Built for Real‑World Performance
Sentinel Emergency Management designs and delivers training and capability programs for organisations operating in environments where emergencies have real consequences. Every program is built around your specific hazard profile, workforce, and operating context — not a generic course catalogue.
We bring direct operational experience across a wide range of industries and operating environments. That experience is what separates training your people can use from training your people can forget.
Training Delivery Pathways
Sentinel delivers flexible workforce capability solutions — from operational exercises and professional development programs through to nationally recognised training delivered in partnership with Registered Training Organisations, and formal competency verification services.
Accredited Training
Nationally recognised training delivered through formal partnership and auspicing arrangements with Registered Training Organisations.
Sentinel delivers selected nationally recognised units and skill sets through formal auspicing arrangements with Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that hold the relevant units on their approved scope of registration.
Where training is delivered under these arrangements, successful participants may receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment issued by the partnering RTO — not by Sentinel EM.
- Nationally recognised units and skill sets
- Training package aligned delivery
- Statement of Attainment via partnering RTO
- Industry and workplace-relevant context
- AVETMISS compliant records
Sentinel Emergency Management is not itself a Registered Training Organisation. Accredited outcomes are issued by our partnering RTOs under formal auspicing arrangements.
Non-Accredited Training
High-fidelity operational capability development tailored to agency, industry, and organisational requirements.
Sentinel’s non-accredited programs are designed to build practical capability, operational readiness, and leadership performance in emergency management and safety-critical environments.
These programs focus on scenario-based learning, decision-making under pressure, contemporary risk environments, and applied emergency management systems — calibrated to your operational context.
- Scenario-based and exercise-driven delivery
- Customised to your operational environment
- Leadership and decision-making focus
- Incident management and control
- Operational readiness and capability uplift
Non-accredited programs deliver professional development and operational capability. They do not issue nationally recognised AQF qualifications or Statements of Attainment.
Verification of Competency
Structured assessment and verification services to confirm personnel meet defined operational and workplace performance standards.
Sentinel provides Verification of Competency (VOC) services designed to support workforce assurance, operational compliance, and currency validation across emergency management and both public safety & workplace safety-critical roles.
VOC processes confirm that personnel can demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and operational performance against defined workplace or industry standards. Where gaps are identified, targeted refresher recommendations are provided.
- Competency verification against defined standards
- Workforce assurance and compliance support
- Currency validation for licensed roles
- Practical and performance-based assessment
- Gap analysis and refresher recommendations
VOC is an assessment and verification process, not formal training delivery. It does not constitute qualification issuance or replace accredited training pathways.
Skills Maintenance Training
Structured refresher programs to keep your workforce current, compliant, and operationally ready — on a schedule that fits your organisation.
Competency is not a fixed point — it degrades without deliberate reinforcement. Skills maintenance training is designed for personnel who have previously been trained and assessed, providing structured re-familiarisation with procedures, equipment, and decision-making frameworks before that degradation becomes a liability.
Delivered as standalone refresher sessions or as part of a rolling annual training programme, this pathway is built around the operational tempo and regulatory obligations of high-consequence environments.
- Annual and periodic refresher delivery
- Scenario-based practical re-familiarisation
- Updated content reflecting legislative or procedural changes
- CPD hours formally recorded and documented
- Supports ongoing WHS and regulatory compliance obligations
- Certificate of currency issued on completion
Skills maintenance training is not a replacement for initial competency-based training. It is designed for personnel who have already met the base standard and require structured currency maintenance.
Resources & Remote Operations
Mine sites, gas plants, and remote resource operations face compounding risk — isolation, multi-employer workforces, complex logistics, and regulatory obligations under WHS legislation. When something goes wrong, self-reliance is the only option until external support arrives. We build the capability to bridge that gap.
Government & Local Government
Local governments carry legislated emergency management obligations across their facilities, workforces, and communities — from council buildings and depots through to libraries, community centres, and public spaces. We deliver training and compliance programs that hold up to audit and actually prepare people for emergencies in their workplace.
Major Events & Mass Gatherings
Festivals, concerts, sporting events, and public gatherings create temporary, high-density environments where crowd dynamics, limited infrastructure, and compressed timeframes produce significant risk profiles. Emergency management must be practical, deployable on the day, and understood by a temporary workforce who may never have worked together before.
Education, Retail & High-Density Sites
Schools, universities, shopping centres, and places of mass gathering operate under heightened duty-of-care obligations with large numbers of people — including vulnerable populations — moving through their facilities daily. Emergency planning, warden training, and evacuation exercises must be practical, regularly tested, and aligned to AS3745:2010.
Volunteer & Community Organisations
Volunteer and not-for-profit organisations face a unique set of challenges — constrained resources, a workforce motivated by service rather than contract, and governance obligations that require a different approach. We have direct experience in this operating environment and deliver programs that fit the reality of volunteer-based organisations.
Corporate & Commercial Workplaces
Every workplace has WHS obligations for emergency planning, warden training, and risk management — regardless of industry or size. We deliver workplace-specific programs for offices, warehouses, retail, light industrial, and commercial facilities that meet AS3745:2010 requirements and actually prepare people for emergencies in their environment.
